Your internet is at stake!
Have you ever heard the term Net Neutrality? Do you know what it is? Well if you don't check out the link. But basically Network Neutrality — or "Net Neutrality" for short — is the guiding principle that preserves the free and open Internet.Net Neutrality ensures that all users can access the content or run the applications and devices of their choice. With Net Neutrality, the network's only job is to move data — not choose which data to privilege with higher quality service. Net Neutrality prevents the companies that control the wires from discriminating against content based on its source or ownership. But The whole idea of getting rid of it should make everyone of you who reads this take another minute to sign the petition to stop this madness.
The nation's largest telephone and cable companies — including AT&T, Verizon, Comcast and Time Warner — want to be Internet gatekeepers, deciding which Web sites go fast or slow and which won't load at all.
They want to tax content providers to guarantee speedy delivery of their data. They want to discriminate in favor of their own search engines, Internet phone services, and streaming video — while slowing down or blocking their competitors. So all you google lovers? Be prepared to possibly pay extra fee or taxes just to goto your favorite pages. My space is the number 1 visted website in the WORLD people. You dont think these big companies are going to try to charge extra for you to use this website? ANYthing to make more money.
I dont want to ramble on about it. But just know.....That these companies want you to pay for content. Sites you use everyday. you would have to pay to get to em quicker. So if your like me and open up FOLDERS of bookmarks into tabs. What took me 10 minutes to do when I get up in the morning. Checking my Email, Voicemail, forums post, news websites....could take like an hour. You will even have to pay to play your diffent games on the internet. People who have Voip(Voice Over IP) Will have to pay diffent fees then what you pay for cable internet and cable tv.
I challenge everyone who reads this post to STAND UP for a free internet. It's been your every right since it's creation. The same reason it's FREE in libraries. Sign the petition to a free internet. Even send congress a letter telling them to free our f**king internet.
